I am a very young and happy 60 “something” year old family man, non-drinker and a non-smoker. I have lived and traveled in many countries around the world, and I, now, make my home  in the Republic of the Philippines. I’ve had, at certain times, lots of money and lived like a king; and, certain times, I’ve had no money at all and lived like a king. I learned that having, or not having money, has nothing at all to do with being happy.

The Things I Hate: Cruelty of any kind; war and conflict; any country, any religion, or person that thinks it is better than others; parents who abandon their young children; gambling, drugs, smoking, and excessive drinking.

Strongest Assets: A wonderful wife; wonderful children; a God who loves and forgives me for being an imperfect person; sense of humor; compassion; and the ability to find solutions to problems.

Worst Characteristics: Impatience and occasional mood swings.

Best Characteristics: Good family man; ability to return love when given; can cry when I feel the need; true friends can count on me; love anything high tech; always learning; an avid reader; lover of classical music and opera but enjoy other types of music; can love a beautiful sunset and find beauty in the world that God gave us.

Worst Experiences: My irresponsible mother and  father; my stepmother;  my step-grandfather; certain periods of time in military service.

Best Experiences: My wife; all my children; being raised by wonderful foster parents; my grandmother; grade school and middle school; my years living in Germany; a very few special friends; being fortunate enough to have somewhere to live, enough to eat, and pretty good health; believing that God has and continues to  watch over and guide me through my life.

Profession: Many in past years; current position: full-time husband, father, entrepreneur, and lover and student of life.

About Thoughts On My Day

Wikipedia defines a blog as “A website in which items are posted on a regular basis and displayed in reverse chronological order. The term blog is a shortened form of weblog or web log. Authoring a blog, maintaining a blog or adding an article to an existing blog is called blogging. Individual articles on a blog are called blog posts, posts or entries. A person who posts these entries is called a blogger. A blog comprises text, hypertext, images, and links (to other web pages and to video, audio and other files). Blogs use a conversational style of documentation. Often blogs focus on a particular area of interest, such as Washington, D.C. political goings-on. Some blogs discuss personal experiences…” The truth of the matter: a blog is, simply, a personal journal. That’s how the whole thing started on the Internet years ago.

I started putting together Thoughts On My Day with the idea of putting on paper the many thoughts, opinions, and recollections that run through my mind each and everyday. These thoughts and recollections won’t be “earth-shattering” or “the secrets of the universe”, but will, sometimes, ring a bell, hit a nerve, or, maybe, even draw a smile.

You may not always agree with my opinions and you may, even get upset with an occasional comment but that is what makes us unique individual human beings. Having said that; I promise that my postings will be my honest thoughts and opinions and  will never be purposely cruel or dishonest.
