A New Updated Look at Thoughts on My Day

For quite awhile my wife has been telling me that my blog appearance was some what “depressing.” She said “It is too dark and gloomy and with the purpose of my writing it just gets gloomier!”

Now,  I admit that I listen to my wife’s opinions on many matters but I really liked the dark blue motif of the blog theme. It took a while but, in the end, my wife’s opinion took hold.

There was another reason for the change.

The blog theme was an open-source free theme. Now, I do not have anything against free themes (hundreds of thousands of bloggers are using them) but there are issues with using them. The biggest issue is support. The theme I was using was not being supported to utilize the major improvements with WordPress. WordPress is the greatest blog platform in existence (my opinion) and is being upgraded on a continuing basis. To make use of those great enhancements, a theme must be supported and updated. This is not the usual case with free themes.

I have decided that (for me) it is best to pay the price and use commercial themes. Paid themes are usually well supported and are easy to modify, when necessary.

Without a doubt, the best company for paid  designer themes is StudioPress. I would recommend this company to anyone wanting to take that next important step in blogging. Their support is without rival.  You will see an ad for them in my sidebar. Please click and visit them or just go to their website at: StudioPress

With the change in theme, I will be able to do many new things that I would not have with the previous theme.

I hope you like it. Let me know what you think.
